Good morning Ray family!
- THIS DOES NOT APPLY FOR MR. PARANJAPE’S HOMEROOM
Dear Ray seventh and eighth grade students and families,
Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) testing starts this week on Monday, May 10, 2021. To accommodate both in-person and remote student testing we will have changes to our regular schedule on Monday-May 10, Tuesday-May11, and Tuesday-May18. Students who attend in-person will test with their homeroom teachers. Students who are remote learners should have received a communication from the school about when they are scheduled to come to Ray for IAR testing. Remote learner families should contact our school counselor and test coordinator Ms. Nieto ([email protected] ) if they have not received information about when their students are scheduled to test.
In-person learners schedule for May 10, May 11, and May 18
Students will be taking two tests each day. The first test will be after specials classes and the second test will be after lunch and recess. Students will not have regularly scheduled classes. Students will test with their homeroom teachers with exceptions for students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Teachers will provide asynchronous assignments for students to complete for when testing is over each day.
We will start with the mathematics portion of the IAR on Monday, May 10 and the beginning of the English/language arts (ELA) sections on Tuesday, May 11. We will complete the ELA testing on Tuesday, May 18.
Remote learners schedule for May 10, May 11, and May 18
Remote learners will not be able to attend all of their classes on May 10, May 11, or May 18 as teachers will be administering IAR tests to in-person learners. Remote students should attend Google Meets only for their homeroom, specials and English/language arts (ELA) classes on these days. Students will receive asynchronous assignments from their other teachers to complete on these three days.
Remote learner IAR testing begins on Tuesday, May 11. Remote learners should come to Ray to take their IAR tests at their scheduled time. Remote student testing is on May 11, May 13, and May 18. Students missing regularly scheduled classes on May 13 will be excused from in class assignments and should check in with their teachers for missed information and learning.
Best,
