Due Thursday, worksheet on approximation, estimation, and one step equations (11-21). We just started learning slope intercept formula y = mx + b. We saw that sometimes to find the slope we have to solve for y when 9y - 18 = 54x. The simplified equation is y = 6x + 2. Our slope is 6/1 and the y-intercept is 2 (a coordinate of (0, 2).
Students can play a slope intercept game at http://www.math-play.com/slope-intercept-game.html and can due a review of slope at Khan Academy and work on this subject watching a video and doing follow-up problems at https://www.khanacademy.org/math/cc-eighth-grade-math/cc-8th-linear-equations-functions/8th-slope/v/graphical-slope-of-a-line Good fortune to you! Greatest factor worksheet, substitution for x and y using linear equations, and constant rate of change and linear proportions worksheets are due. I am missing the 8 questions about equations with a variable on each side has not been turned in. Check your folders.
Class will resume Thursday and we will begin researching the Iraq War. Research questions are due Friday. Each student needs to have four questions of interest about the war. For example, history, war interest, resource involvement etc.
8 questions and individual goal work due friday 1/8/16.
You will be receiving your rubric for the research of the iraq war and the book pride of baghdad. Tomorrow students are responsible for vocabulary 8-14 due Wednesday.
The oral presentation is a ten minute presentation in front of an audience; you have to use media (ppt and elmo for pictures). The research for iraq war has to have thrie and evidences and from the book three claims and evidences. You will be expected to deliver a presentation (eye contact, emotion, voice level etcc.). |
